According to the package processing rules overseas introduced by the Federal Customs Service of Russia (FCS), individuals in Russia need to provide the following information:
- surname, name, patronymic of the recipient of the package
- delivery address
- passport details (number, series, date of issue, issued by whom),
- TIN (taxpayer identification number) for citizens of the Russian Federation.
According to Order of the FCS of the Russian Federation No. 1861, customs passport data and the recipient’s TIN are required for customs clearance of package from foreign online stores.
Individuals can import for free personal use goods worth up to 500 euros for one calendar month. As for an amount exceeding this threshold, 30% of the cost is paid + 12.5 euros for the processing of customs duties. Control over compliance with the duty-free threshold lies with the buyer. Payment of customs duty is made by the buyer in accordance with Russian legislation. Providing an TIN does not change anything for you. It is needed to uniquely identify the user, making it easier for the FCS to control the cost and weight of purchased goods.
